7.2% increase in car sales in Iraq/increasing interest in Japanese cars

A review of the Iraqi market situation shows a 7.2 percent increase in car sales in Iraq in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period last year.

According to the “focus2move” report, the total car sales from the beginning of this year to the end of June was 42,132 units, which shows a 7.2% increase compared to the first half of 2021.

Car sales in Iraq have been growing in the past years, although the spread of Corona has also had a strong impact on the market of cars in Iraq.

In 2019, the number of car sales in Iraq was 79,980, but in 2020, it decreased by 16.7% to 66,591.

This statistic resumed its growing trend in 2021 and reached 85,380 devices, which showed a growth of 27.6% compared to the previous year.
