Syria’s most imported products are from Turkish, Chinese, Egyptian, and Russian. Major imported items include industrial and agricultural machinery, motor vehicles and accessories, pharmaceuticals, foodstuffs, and textiles. Lebanon is a significant destination of Syria’s exports. Syria’s exports mostly include oil, phosphates, shredded cotton, cottonseed, barley, lentils, cotton and wool fabrics, dried fruits, vegetables, hides, and raw wool. Other major export destinations include Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan. Foreign trade is regulated by the government.
